I. Humanities

Our Humanities program forms students in wisdom through the great works of history, literature, and rhetoric. From the epic poetry of Homer and Virgil to Dante, Shakespeare, and Tolkien, students enter the Great Conversation of Western civilization. They learn to read closely, write persuasively, and speak eloquently, while exploring the unfolding story of history shaped by faith and reason.
II. Mathematics & Science

Students progress through algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics while exploring biology, chemistry, and physics. Courses such as Faith, Science, and Reason integrate Catholic teaching with scientific inquiry, helping students see the order of God’s creation.
III. Catechesis & Theology

Catechesis and theology at Saint Thomas More Academy is centered on God's revelation in Jesus Christ, as it is found in Sacred Scripture and understood in Sacred Tradition. Beginning with a strong foundation in Scripture, the Creed, and the sacraments, students progress and deepen their formation with courses in Patristics, Ecclesiology, Moral Theology, and Catholic Social Teaching. Students at our school also engage with the great texts of Western spirituality including the writings of Augustine, Aquinas, and Bonaventure.
IV. Latin
Latin, the language of the Church and the foundational language of the liberal arts, is studied throughout the Upper School. Students progress from grammar to reading original texts, encountering authors such as Cicero, Virgil, and Augustine. Advanced courses and the option of AP Latin allow students to develop mastery.
V. Greek

Students may also pursue the riches of ancient Greek, beginning with introductory grammar and progressing through reading ancient texts. With study extending through four years, the program opens the door to the New Testament in its original language as well as the philosophy, poetry, and history of ancient Greece—deepening students’ grasp of both classical culture and Christian tradition.
VI. Fine Arts

The fine arts nurture creativity and expression. Through visual art, music, drama, and speech, students learn the fundamentals of acting, vocal performance, and public speaking, while also exploring sacred music and artistic techniques.
VII. Philosophy & Government

Grounded in Thomistic philosophy and an appreciation for the American system, our Philosophy and Government sequence cultivates wisdom for life in both thought and society. In philosophy, students are trained in the fundamentals of logic, natural philosophy, and metaphysics. Additionally, courses in U.S. Government and Economics - complemented with studies in U.S. History and Catholic Social Teaching - prepare students to engage as virtuous citizens who fully understand the rights of man and the promotion of the Common Good.
